Below are some facts and figures relating to our continuing environmental improvements.

We have ISO 9001:2000 Quality Standard and ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Standard.

We have the equivalent to ISO 12647 Quality Colour Standard.

We have FSC and PEFC Accreditation.

We have reduced our waste to landfill by more than 70% by more efficient recycling.

We have recently calculated our Carbon Footprint with a view to reducing it.

We are also now able to calculate the volume of carbon generated for each individual job produced, using a system developed in co-operation with the British Printing Industries Federation.

We now use all vegetable oil based inks on our presses.

We are driving down the volume of VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds) used.

We monitor the use, effectiveness and efficiency of all company vehicles, couriers and carriers.

A recently installed Computerised Plate Making system using water developing technology has virtually eliminated the production of Liquid Hazardous Waste.

We are about to install a Voltage Optimiser, financed by an interest free loan from the Carbon Trust, which will reduce our electricity consumption by more than 10% and reduce our Carbon Footprint by 35 tonnes per year.

A recent Eco-Audit carried out on our site has highlighted some possible major environmental efficiencies which are currently being considered.
